In the beginning there was the cat
It all began with an encounter and a glance. One summer afternoon in China's endless Taklamakan Desert. There, where heat and sand reign, Jia, the founder of CATAC , encountered a starving tiger cub abandoned on the side of the road.

In his role as product manager, Jia set out to closely study cat behavior and the experiences of their owners. He immersed himself in the world of smart pet products and optimized every detail—from the perspective of both cats and their humans.
After almost two years of tireless development, testing and improvements, the CATAC Cleanbox was finally created – CATAC's first intelligent litter box.
Our brand name is a combination of “Cat” and “Taklamakan”: Inspired by the vastness of the desert and the cleanliness of our house cats, CATAC stands for the protected space that every cat deserves.
